Fulda – the city of Baroque and culture...

Our Baroque city is a beloved tourist destination for individuals and groups alike, and a popular venue for conferences as well. In the heart of the city, you can tour the famous Baroque quarters with the imposing cathedral, the Orangerie and the magnificent Stadtschloss palace. Nearby, the historic old town awaits with its half-timbered buildings, narrow and charming pathways and market squares, with abundant shops, sidewalk cafes - and taverns for a day of discovery. 

Beside the city`s charm and history, visitors appreciate Fulda`s central location and the s of German Railways’ high-speed ICE trains. 

Just outside the Baroque City, Fulda is located in the idyllic Rhoen region, hidden for decades in the shadow of the border dividing the former East and West Germany. The one advantage is that the region has remained in a pristine state. The Rhoen valley is a natural treasure of idyllic meadowlands, undulating hills, high moors and rough basalt cliffs. It’s no wonder the Rhoen region has the nickname, ‘The Land of Open Spaces’. UNESCO has recognized this uniqueness and designated the region as a Biosphere Reservation.  Discover the Wasserkuppe summit, renowned as the birthplace of the sailplane, or the famous Point Alpha Border Museum. Walk with the Rhoen Sheepherders, bake bread on an organic farm or simply take in a bird’s eye view of the fantastic landscape.
